II.9. Can I see parsing errors detected by Amaya?

Amaya cannot be used to check validity of HTML pages. It accepts valid and
invalid HTML documents and tries to dynamically correct errors. For example
it’s able to add missing end-tags and to move misplaced elements.

When parsing a XHTML document, Amaya checks it for well-formedness and stops
as soon as it encounters an error. In that case, Amaya displays an alert box to
indicate that the document is incomplete.

In both cases (HTML and XHTML documents) when Amaya finds tags and
attributes it does not know or any error, it generates a log file which can be
displayed by the command FileShow parsing errors.

II.21 How to move a column or a row of a table?

Atom

To copy or cut a column:

Use the Select column entry in the Tools/Edit
table submenu.

You can also start the selection in a cell, extend to another cell in
the same column. Hitting the F2 key extends the selection to the
whole column. Amaya changes to column selection mode.
Copy or cut it.

To paste a column before or after another column:

To paste a column before an existing column, click on a cell in the
existing column and use item Paste before of the
Tools/Edit table submenu.

If the selection is at the beginning of the cell, the
Paste command is equivalent to a Paste
before command.
To paste a column after an existing column, click on a cell in the
existing column and use item Paste after of the
Tools/Edit table submenu.

If the selection is not at the beginning of the cell, the
Paste command is equivalent to a Paste
after command.

To copy or cut a row:

You start the selection in a cell. Hitting the F2 key until it

Getting the binary distribution

The Amaya binary distribution is available for PC Linux, Windows and Mac OS
X. Users having other architectures are expected to compile the Amaya source code.

Please note that it is preferable to uninstall a previous version of Amaya
before installing a new one.

Snapshot 11.4.7 — Security fix

This snapshot contains a security fix for a problem with the libwww as, in
some cases, user password could be sent in the clear through https.
This problem concerns only people who use the PUT capability of Amaya over SSL.

Amaya – программа два в одном

Она объединяет в себе функции веб-браузера и HTML-редактора.Создали ее разработчики компании The World Wide Web Consortium, уделяя особое внимание ориентированию на современные стандарты

Предназначена программа в первую очередь для вэб-разработчиков. К их услугам – удобный и надежный конструктор для создания сайтов, где можно творить, практически не ограничивая свою фантазию. Единственный “тормоз” – те самые общие стандарты. Однако это скорее плюс. Ведь речь идет не просто о желании “загнать в рамки”. Сделано это для того, чтобы новые сайты просто корректно отображались на всех имеющихся браузерах (которые, как вы понимаете, тоже не с потолка подходящие параметры берут).

Симбиоз браузера и редактора оказался довольно удачен. Прежде всего тем, что можно сразу просмотреть созданный сайт, понять, как его будут видеть пользователи на своих мониторах и в случае чего сразу исправить оплошность или добавить что-то недостающее.

Функционал

Как бы ни утверждали разработчики, что Amaya – разносторонняя программа, браузер в ней довольно посредственный, не обладает никакими выдающимися функциями. И скорее всего, если вам в первую очередь необходим именно вэб-обозреватель, лучше выбрать другой вариант.

Но вот как HTML-редактор Амайя действительно незаменима. Отвечая всем современным стандартам WWW, она позволяет собрать практически с нуля вполне рабочий и удобный для использования сайт. Созданные в программе страницы отвечают самым современным стандартам.

Редактор представлен в виде интерфейса WYSIWYG, позволяющего визуализировать исходный код. Программа поддерживает сотни языков и имеет в своем распоряжении огромное количество дополнительных модулей и внушительный набор инструментов. Они позволяют создать совершенно индивидуальную страницу, которая будет выглядеть именно так, какой вы нарисовали ее в своем воображении. Работать можно и даже нужно с одним из длинного списка протоколов, на ваш вкус: HTML, XHTML 1.0, XHTML Basic, XHTML 1.1, HTTP 1.1, MathML 2.0, CSS. В результате на выходе вы получаете максимально корректно работающую веб-страницу, созданную на самом высоком уровне.

Увы, в современном мире такой перфекционизм – скорее исключение, чем правило. Именно стандарты по сути уничтожили возможность использовать Amaya в качестве браузера. Как правило, в наши дни веб-дизайнеры ориентируются только на самые популярные вэб-обозреватели, такие как Firefox, Opera, Яндекс.Браузер и Google Chrome. Так что их работа легко может не попадать под “строгие стандарты WWW”. Результат закономерен – большинство сайтов в браузере открываются некорректно.

Плюсы и минусы

Поддержка SVG графики.

Минусы

Программа не русифицирована.
Отсутствие поддержки и обновлений.
Вэб-браузер многие сайты отображает некорректно.

Заключение

Свободный WYSIWYG-редактор веб-страниц со встроенным веб-браузером, разрабатываемый консорциумом W3C. Доступен для операционных систем Linux, UNIX, Windows, Mac OS X. Отличается хорошей поддержкой стандартов W3-консорциума.

The company produces and offers online gaming products and services including poker, casino and sportsbook through its online gaming division, Stars Interactive. These online brands are PokerStars, PokerStars Casino, BetStars and Full Tilt Poker.

The Stars Group is also the owner of the PokerStars Championship, PokerStars Festival and MEGASTACK live poker tournament brands, and brands live poker rooms including PokerStars Live at the Hippodrome Casino London, PokerStars Live at the City of Dreams in Macau and PokerStars Live at the City of Dreams in Manila. Stars Interactive is headquartered in Onchan, Isle of Man where PokerStars had an office since 2005, almost five years after its inception.

Licensing

Stars Interactive, the online gaming division of The Stars Group, has licences or related approvals to operate from 17 jurisdictions and offers its products and services in Europe, North America and elsewhere. In the jurisdictions where it operates, it either maintains a local licence or approval, or uses multi-jurisdictional licences issued by the Isle of Man or Malta.

II.4. Can I edit tags directly?

Amaya has been built as a structured document editor. This approach allows
it to handle complex documents and highly structured objects such as tables,
structured graphics or mathematical expressions. While editing in the HTML or
the XHML mode, Amaya works on the document tree, not on its textual
representation, which is generated only at save time, in the syntax you choose
(plain text, HTML, XHML).

Amaya also allows you to open the source view of the document (entry
Views/Show source) and then to edit tags. This is done in a separate
but synchronized document. Amaya shows what part of the source document is
concerned by the current selection in the formatted document and conversely.
Both the source document and the formatted document can be edited. Changes done
in any of these two documents are reflected in the other by the
File/Synchronize command. Synchronization is also performed
automatically when the wiew selection changes.

II.12. How to get out of a preformatted, a table, or a division?

When the cursor is at the end of a formatted
element, hitting the Enter key creates a new line in the <pre>.

To create another element, say a paragraph, before or after the
:

Select the element with the ESC or
F2 key or by clicking the in the status bar
displayed at the bottom of the window.
Insert an empty element before or after with Insert and
Append entries of the contextual menu.

If the current editing mode is XML (see the Text/XML button at the
bottom right), another way to achieve Append action is to
press the Enter key.
Use the Insert menu or the Elements panel to insert the
element you want to create.

This works also for a table or a division ().

Что касается основного функционального набора, операции, представленные в нем, довольно противоречивы. Дело здесь в том, что более всего программа Amaya ориентирована на использование в качестве именно HTML-редактора и позволяет создавать веб-страницы, отвечающие самым современным стандартам. Основные проблемы начинаются при включении приложения Amaya в виде обычного браузера. Но обо всем по порядку.

HTML-редактор представлен в виде интерфейса WYSIWYG, который предполагает визуализацию разработки кода. Здесь имеются все необходимые инструменты, скажем, та же подсветка кода и т.д. Что касается поддержки основных языков и дополнительных модулей средств разработки, в приложении представлены протоколы HTML, XHTML 1.0, XHTML Basic, XHTML 1.1, HTTP 1.1, MathML 2.0, CSS и даже SVG-графика. С помощью таких средств, естественно, можно добиться создания исключительно корректно работающей веб-страницы самого высокого уровня.

К сожалению, эта исключительная корректность и стала основным минусом программы Amaya. Проблема в том, что компания, продвигающая данный продукт на рынке современных компьютерных технологий уж слишком ревностно следит за соблюдением основных мировых стандартов функционирования WWW. Это и привело к тому, что в качестве браузера приложение и следует этим стандартам. Если разобраться, то большинство специалистов (а точнее, практически никто) из веб-разработчиков таких суровых стандартов в своей работе не придерживается. В данном случае они более ориентируются именно на то, как будет отображаться веб-страница в самых популярных и распространенных веб-браузерах типа Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera и т.д. Именно поэтому абсолютное большинство (если не сказать, что все) веб-страниц отображаются совершенно некорректно и выглядят, мягко говоря, абсолютно непривлекательно. Но, как говорится, дело такое.

В общем и целом, как уже было сказано выше, использовать приложение в качестве пакета «все в одном» просто невозможно. Некорректность работы программы Amaya в качестве Интернет-браузера явно снижает ее популярность. Единственное, что остается, использовать встроенный HTML-редактор, хотя, если разобраться, в Интернете можно найти соответствующее программное обеспечение с не меньшими (а то и большими) возможностями. В общем, каждому решать самому, использовать пакет Amaya или нет.

II.20 How to move a division?

To copy or cut a division:

Select a point within the division.
Click in the status bar (at the bottom of the window) on the
, or press the F2 (or Esc)
key until the element is selected.
Copy or cut it.

To paste the division before or after another division:

Select the division like if you want to copy it.
If you want to paste the copied division before, use the
Insert entry of the contextual menu to create an empty
element before the division.
If you want to paste the copied division after, use the
Append entry of the contextual menu to create an empty
element after the division.

If the current editing mode is XML (see the Text/XML button at the
bottom right), another way to achieve the Append action is
to press the Enter key.
Paste at that new position.

II.18. How can I publish my documents remotely?

Amaya supports remote publishing using the HTTP PUT method but it is not
able to save files using FTP.

PUT needs not only to be supported by the web server, but also
implemented.

Apache httpd doesn’t implement PUT by default ; however, it provides hooks
whereby you can install a PUT handler to implement the protocol.

Corporate history[]

In June 2014, the company led by David Baazov agreed to buy the parent company of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, owned by Isai and Mark Scheinberg, for $4.9 billion borrowing $3 billion for the deal. The takeover made The Stars Group, then called Amaya, the world’s biggest publicly listed online gambling company. The deal was closed on August 1, 2014, with final payment being made on May 31, 2017.

David Baazov was Amaya’s CEO at that time. In March 2016, following charges by Canadian regulators with multiple securities fraud charges, he took an indefinite leave of absence, and resigned in August.

On June 6, 2018, the Court of Quebec ordered a Stay of the Proceedings brought by the Authorite Des Marches Financiers (Canada) against David Baazov. The Supreme Court of Canada states that a stay of proceedings is the «ultimate remedy,» which prevents the court from ever adjudicating the matter. A Stay of Proceedings under Canadian law is the equivalent to a dismissal with prejudice under U.S. law.

On December 20, 2016, Baazov dropped a bid to buy the company with a «virtually unknown» group of outside investors, one of whom denied being involved.

In December 2015, a Kentucky court ordered that Amaya pay $870 million in penalties to cover alleged losses by the state’s residents who played real-money poker on the PokerStars website between 2006 and 2011.

In December 2018, the Kentucky Court of Appeals overturned this $870 million judgment on the grounds that the state lacked standing to claim damages under the Loss Recovery Act, which «was never intended to be used in this fashion.» Current CEO Rafi Ashkenazi became Interim Chief Executive Officer of The Stars Group, then Amaya, in March 2016 and then permanent Chief Executive Officer in November, 2016. On August 1, 2017, the company changed its name to The Stars Group Inc.

Retired US Army General and former Democratic Party presidential nominee Wesley Clark is a former member of the board of directors. In April 2018, the company acquired UK-focused Sky Betting & Gaming for cash and stock worth $4.7 billion.

In May 2019, Fox Sports announced a partnership with The Stars Group to develop sports betting platforms (including free-to-play, and real-money gambling in states where it is legal) for the U.S. market under the Fox Bet banner—becoming the first major U.S. sports broadcaster to introduce a co-branded sports betting platform. As part of the partnership, Fox Corporation acquired a 4.99% stake in the company for $236 million. There was also an option for Fox to acquire up to a 50% stake in The Stars Group’s U.S. operations within the next 10 years.

On 2 October 2019, Flutter Entertainment announced an agreement to acquire The Stars Group for $6 billion. Fox will have the option to acquire an 18.5% stake in its U.S. subsidiary FanDuel Group in 2021. On December 3, 2019, The Stars Group announced it had completed its acquisition of Australian online sports betting business BetEasy after originally acquiring a majority stake in the company (then known as CrownBet) from casino operator Crown Resorts in 2018.

II.1. Amaya doesn’t start. What can I do?

The most common reason is that Amaya is not able to generate its temporary
working directory.

The following table shows the default position of this directory in
different architectures:

If this position is not available, you have to force another position with
the AMAYA_USER_HOME global variable.

This variable must point to an existing and allowed path directory under
which Amaya will generate its working files and sub-directories.

On Windows platforms, you should set that variable from the
System Properties (either accessible from the «System» Control Panel or through
My Computer -> Properties context menu) «Advanced» page — Environment
Variables. This way the setting will be in effect for every process.

set AMAYA_USER_HOME=C:\Documents and Settings\XX\Amaya

Do not leave spaces around the variable name and the value, and don’t use
quotes.

On Unix platforms

It could be a problem during the installation procedure:
If the package is not installed with SU rights, the symbolic link
is not created and the application cannot be
launched.

The solution is to install the package with the command

Installing Amaya

How to change the dialogue language

By default Amaya works with an English dialogue. Other languages are
supported:

French, German, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian, Georgian, Norwegian,
Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Finnish, Dutch, Slovak,
Ukrainian.
The in-line documentation is available in French and English. The Dutch
version is in progress.

Users can change the dialogue language through the configuration menu

Installing dictionaries

Amaya includes a spell-checker. By default French and
English dictionaries are included in the distribution. If your distribution
doesn’t include the dictionary you want (see ),
you must download and install it. These dictionaries are not
complete, so the spell-checker could report spelling errors just because the
dictionary doesn’t include these words.

To install a dictionary you have just to unzip and untar it into the current
directory with the command «».

II.10. What is the reason for a very liberal structure enforcement?

Amaya has to cope with existing HTML pages, and very few of them validate
against the HTML DTD. When designing Amaya, we were faced with a difficult
choice:

Adopt a strict position and reject all invalid pages. Most users would be
very disapointed not to be able to see many pages that other Web clients
can display;
Accept invalid pages and let Amaya fix the most common bugs.

We chose the latter option and decided that Amaya should try to fix bugs,
but without losing information. If an element is not valid in a given context,
Amaya tries to change the structure locally to make that element valid, but it
doesn’t delete the element or move it to a different place, which could change
the document meaning.

The issue is that a DTD only specifies the structure of a document class,
not its semantics. When you consider an invalid document, there are often
several ways to transform its structure to make it valid, but each
transformation may have a different impact on the document semantics. The DTD
does not allow you to choose the right transformation.

Another important design decision that has been made for Amaya is that, even
if it accepts invalid documents, the structure and markup that it produces is
always valid. Obviously, only elements created or changed by Amaya itself are
concerned here. Some invalid parts of the original document may remain when the
document is saved.

The above remarks only apply to HTML documents. For XHTML, Amaya has a
different, very strict behaviour: it a
document when it encounters a well-formedness error. The motivation is to help
XHTML to deploy in a clean way. There are no legacy documents to support.

II.2. Amaya is very very slow

AmayaWX uses OpenGL for page rendering. This allows a better support of SVG
and animations. The drawback is that Amaya is very dependent on video card’s
drivers, if a driver is buggy, Amaya will probably crash…

On Unix platforms, Amaya comes with the Mesa library to implement OpenGL
primitives. Mesa is a software OpenGL implemetation so Amaya isn’t dependent on
video card drivers on Unix. If Amaya doesn’t start or is very slow on Unix
platforms it’s something else.

On Windows platforms, Amaya uses hardware OpenGL
implementation so Amaya is very dependent on video card’s drivers. When the
application doesn’t start or is very very slow, we suggest that users check:

Update of their video card driver, if there is an available. This update
can be found either on the MicroSoft site (see the driver section) or on
the site of the Video card provider.

II.5. Fonts are too small. What can I do?

With Amaya you can zoom in and zoom out, document window by document window.
So each document displayed in a zoomed window will be displayed larger or
smaller than its normal size according of the current zoom factor. That zoom
factor acts on all the displayed information (fonts, images, etc.). Commands
that chage the zoom factor are located in the menu Views.

The Edit/Preferences/General menu allows you to change the font
zoom factor permanently. By default that zoom factor is 100% (documents are
displayed with their own size). That zoom factor affects only font sizes but
not other elements (images, etc.).

II.19. How to control the format of generated dates?

Amaya provides a $Date feature. When saving a file Amaya inserts the current
date wherever it encounters a text «date:» between two ‘$’ or
special comments. The XHTML/Insert time stamp menu entry allows you to
generate this date at the current position in the document.

The format of the generated date depends on a Amaya configuration
variable.

ISO_DATE=Yes (default value) generates "YYYY-MM-DD"

YYYY = The year as a decimal number including the century.

MM = The month as a decimal number (range 01 to 12).

DD = The day of the month as a decimal number (range 01 to 31).

ISO_DATE=No generates "DD-MM-YYYY"

DD = The day of the month as a decimal number (range 01 to 31).

MM = The month as a decimal number (range 01 to 12).

YYYY = The year as a decimal number including the century.
